This original & imaginative storybook is a crowd pleaser, for both kids & grown-ups. It is interactive on every page, even the cover. If you touch the leaves scattered at the bottom of the first page, they bounce up into the air with the sound of ocean waves.
Many pictures throughout the book can be touched to cause the character or object to either bounce up with cute sounds or announce the name of the character with a quick flash of the word as it is being read on the audio track. The pages can be a bit touchy at times, so while trying to interact with the story, my son often accidentally triggers a page turn. Using the page turn buttons instead helps.
Animations can be played indefinitely, which can be challenging for some children (especially at bedtime), but they are simple enough to satisfy most kids with just a couple taps. Embedded in the story are two short activities that can be skipped with the tap of a button. Words also highlight as they are read, although the unique font could be difficult for some young readers.
Overall this storybook is a nice addition to our collection - unique story, appeal for all ages, very re-readable, and original artwork with reasonably nice music & sound effects. The animations are simple but engaging, although a bit touchy at times.

Logan & his sister Penny are the main characters. At the beginning of the story, Penny is hiding from her brother near a sunflower. Suddenly a hook comes out of the sky & catches her up, carrying her away, much to the dismay of Logan & his pet dragon. Logan & the dragon decide to build a hot air balloon to try to save her. At the top of the sky, they find Penny standing upside down on a whale that is swimming in an 'upside down sea' that is in place of the sky. Then, with a flip of the iPad, the reader gets to move the story along by causing the sea to also flip to the bottom of the page. This allows Logan to save his sister and make it home in time for dinner, with their mom none the wiser.
