Little Frigglepants: Builds a Rocket Ship is a book with a fun storyline and cute graphics that will engage little astronauts will light animation and lots of interactivity. You can tap the ship to see it take off, play with the rocket's controls, and even blast aliens on an outer-space adventure. The book features a story that will appeal to kids about siblings and one very harried mom.
This is a really fun app for kids with lots of things to tap and explore. The characters clothes change colors in cool ways when tapped, there are bubbles to pop, and lots of neat sound effects. The storyline isn't necessarily tied to these interactions, but they were a real hit with my little boy. He especially liked the way the baby gets into all kinds of silly messes.
The biggest problem I had with this book app, though, was the audio narration. It is adorable, don't get me wrong, but just not ideal for narrating a book. The child who does the voice-over is very inarticulate, to the point that I couldn't understand significant parts of the book without also reading along. The audio recording is also less than polished, making the narration that much harder to understand. When combined with a lot of cool but distracting interactive elements the end result was very little reading comprehension on the part of my preschooler.
With narration turned off, this book is very enjoyable, although it does need a small fix in order to reset to the beginning after closing the app. Otherwise, it is solidly made with easy page turn arrows, although there are no other settings besides a 'read' button on each page to start the narration. The addition of a page guide and home button would be useful in a future update. Overall this is a book with especially fun interactivity, cute illustrations and a great story about the world of make-believe.

Boared one day, little Frigglepants asks his mom, "What should I do?" She wasn't really listening and suggests that he 'clean his room' ... all because Frigglepant's baby sibling was washing clothes in the toilet, making mom rather distracted. So Frigglepants makes a plan to build a rocket ship instead.
Frigglepants asks mom a series of questions, but she is only half listening as she tries to keep the chaos to a minimum. When he asks to borrow the pots & pans she says "sure, sure" because the baby is rubbing bannanas into the couch. When he asks to borrow all the tape in the house, she says ok, because the baby was playing with water in the bathroom sink and making a mess.
Suddenly, Frigglepants can't seem to find the tape ... baby has it all. So he gets it back and tapes up all the pots & pans into a 'rocket ship' shape. The two kids get in and pretend to blast off. They have a magical journey together until mom calls, asking, "Are my pots and pans OUT THERE?"
