Timor the Alligator is a very short but well crafted book about an alligator that doesn't like to brush his teeth. As a result, he has bad breath and some very dirty looking ivories in his mouth. Interactive but not really animated, this app is a perfect read for youngsters with sight words and a simple but important message about dental hygiene.
The app has easy arrow page turning and nice background music. It is not narrated but my Kindergartner surprised me by being able to read nearly every word by himself when we shared this cute title together. The highlight of this book is the interactivity, including nice sound effects as you tap on items found on every page. You can make Timor slide, ride his bike, eat his meals and then go through all the steps of tooth brushing.
The reader gets to pick one of three colored toothbrushes, tap the tube of toothpaste to put it on the brush and then rub the brush along Timor's teeth to see them sparkle. There are even 7 different colors of toothpaste that appear if you keep tapping the brush. The book ends with a page where you can tap Timor to close his eyes and flip the switch to turn out the lights. Timor is adorable (with teeth that glow in the dark after brushing) and he even gets tucked into bed with his toothbrush.
While it would be nice to have narration for this title, it is otherwise solidly made. This book is very short but perfect for toddlers & preschoolers in particular. It is also a great way to reinforce the importance of brushing teeth with a cute character that children will love.

Timor is an alligator that likes to do lots of things like: Slide, Ride, Hide, Fly and Eat. He eats a healthy Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner. But what he doesn't like to do is brush his teeth. The reader gets to help Timor brush his teeth by picking a toothbrush, putting toothpaste on it and then rubbing the brush over Timor's filthy-looking teeth to make them shiny & white again. Now Timor has a 'lovely' smile. Good night Timor. The end.
