Discover Your Body is a wonderful learning app. It's not really a book, but more of an educational tour of the body's systems including the internal organs, muscles and skeleton. The app has a variety of activies with narrated text to go along. It explains each system of the body and its role. The app is broken down into three activities: Explore, Assemble and Color.
Under Explore, you can choose a boy or girl body and one of five subjects that include the internal organs, skeleton, muscles, blood and respiratory systems. Under Assemble, you can place each of the parts of the body, internal organs or skeleton back together. The body parts need to be placed very precisely to fit right, which can be challenging for young children, but still very educational. Under Color, you can tap corresponding areas of the skeleton or musculature to 'color in' all the parts, allowing children to quiz themselves.
Overall this is a solidly made app with lots of great features for exploring and learning about the body. I have only one complaint, but it is a big one. There are two bodies, boy & girl, but from what I could tell there are absolutely no differences between the two because this detailed app leaves the reproductive system completely out of both bodies. I'm not sure if this was intentional and can understand why some parents/educators might be squeemish about talking about these body parts with young children, but from my experience as a sexuality educator, this stands out.
Children need to learn about all their body parts and leaving these parts out can give them the message that something is wrong with those parts of their bodies. We recommend talking about these body parts in a neutral but accurate way with even the youngest children. I suppose there could be a setting to allow people uncomfortable with the reproductive system to turn that portion off, but to make no mention of it while having both genders in the app just strikes me as strange and not educationally sound.
Aside from the missing reproductive system, this app is extraordinary for teaching and learning about the body. Even adults will find this a good learning exercise that makes an otherwise dry subject with lots of details easier to understand. Visual learners, in particular, will find this a great tool for both learning and memorizing the body's systems.
All reviews are of the app, not the platform/device. Based originally on iPad versions. Minor technical details may vary.

This app includes descriptions and visual diagrams of the human body visible on either a boy or girl body (no differences between the two - no reproductive organs shown). The systems shown to explore include external body parts, the skeleton, the muscles, the blood system and the respiratory system. You can also assemble the parts of the body, internal organs & skeleton to quiz yourself or 'color in' each part of the skeletal or musculature systems.
