This is an enchanting story about a little boy and his coin collection. He has coins from all over the world and different eras, but his favorite is a shiny new coin that was given to him as a baby, minted the year he was born. But one day his desire for a coconut cupcake leads him to spend this shiny coin with instant regret. Now the coin is on a long journey traveling the world as it is spent over and over.
This little app has a unique approach to storytelling, featuring small touches of well-done animation along with musical numbers interspersed throughout the story. As a digital title, it feels exceptionally polished, like watching a lightly animated film. The default mode is autoplay, although you can turn off the sound and animation. Most readers will likely prefer this as an animated, musical title. There is no interactivity, making this more of a passive experience for the reader, but an enjoyable one nonetheless.
The story itself is a bit longer than the average digital picture book, providing a lot of content for young readers and listeners. It is also full of great illustrations that tell the story as much as the text. The story itself is heartwarming and funny, making it a nice title for children and adults to share. Overall this is a great title for group storytime and other times when interactivity is not desirable. It features top notch storytelling with well-produced musical and animated enhancements.

A little boy named Gus collects coins from all around the world and different eras. He has one new shiny coin that has never traveled like the others. It was given to him as a baby and was made the year he was born. One day Gus wants a pink frosted cupcake with coconut so badly that he decides to spend his favorite little coin in order to have this tasty treat. He regrets the decision immediately but the coin has already been given to another customer, a man in a hurry.
Soon the little coin is on a journey around the world to see so many new things and meet so many new coins and people. The coin is enjoying this adventure, but one day starts to miss Gus and his friends in the coin collection. Luckily he is given back to the 'man in a hurry' who happens to frequent the little bakery in Paris where Gus buys bread for his family. Gus gets his little coin back and all the old coins are so glad to have their little world traveler home again.
