KidsMag 2 from Portegno Apps is part of a fantastic series of digital 'activity books', including a short but cute storybook. This issue has little brother Teo going on a fishing trip. He and his friends find worms, a perfect spot along the river and cooperate to catch the 'big one'. With 30 pages of activities, this is one of those apps that will keep a bored kid busy (and learning) for nearly an hour.
As a digital offering, this title is solidly made with ample settings to navigate and adjust the apps audio. The story and all activity pages have narration, so even pre-readers can enjoy this app. Illustrations are simple computer graphics but colorful and engaging in a cartoon-like way that children love. With a nice mix of educational and free-play activities, this series is as fun as print activity books and magazines, if not more so.
Readers can page through the book or use the page guide to select specific activities. Beyond the very brief story, you’ll find an exceptional assortment of extras. It has word searches, coloring pages, dress-up, find the difference, dot-to-dot activities and much more. These titles easily get 5-Stars for extras. If you're looking for a digital activity book for kids, look no further!

In the story for this issue, we have "Teo Goes Fishing" ... in this episode, Teo is playing inside with a friend on a rainy day. The boys start wishing the rain would stop so they can go fishing. Soon the rain actually stops ... Teo finds the fishing rod he just got for his birthday. On the way to the fishing spot, the boys gather worms in a nearby park. With packed lunches in hand, the boys find a good spot along the river. Finally, Teo gets a tug on his line. He remembers what his dad told him - to stay calm and firmly reel the fish in. The fish is huge! But the boys don't want to eat the fish, so they carefully remove the hook and throw the fish back. Then they eat their packed lunches.
