Colin the turtle has been having trouble at night. No matter what he tries he just can't seem to get to sleep. "Let's get you a new pillow at the store," suggests his mom in this lightly animated & interactive book app by Greg Pugh. This is a short, simple story that will engage young children, with cartoon-like illustrations and a storyline that is both familiar and fun.
There are not a lot of frills with this book but the storytelling is great. Interactivity is sparse but story-related, including lots of sound effects. The text is nicely narrated, although it doesn't highlight as read. The reading level is just right for young readers aged 6-8, with a nice sized, easy to read font. There is no page guide, but you can restart the story from any page and the book has easy arrow-style page turning.
Overall, this is a great little bedtime read and a popular title with my little boy. He especially liked Colin and his turtle-shaped bed. "Wouldn't it be funny if I slept in a boy-shaped bed, mommy?" he said after we read this book the first time. Most parents & kids will relate to the scenario of a difficult time sleeping and find the trip to the pillow store amusing in this cute, enhanced storybook app.

Colin the turtle can't sleep. After trying everything they can think of, his mom suggests that they go to the pillow store. At "Billow's Pillows" the salesman shows them thousands of pillows. Little Colin looks at aisles and aisles of pillows of every shape, size, material and color.
Finally, after many unsuitable pillows are tried, Colin finds the 'perfect' pillow. It is ordinary and plain looking, but when Colin hugs it, he can tell this is the best pillow in the store. When he gets home, he sleeps deeply, never having trouble sleeping again now that he's found the perfect pillow.
