An exceptional app is packaged in "Squiggles" ... including a short but sweet storybook and endless options for creative play. Two characters are featured in the story, a cute monkey named Bobu and rabbit named Miku. The pair are going to have a snack of 'jumping beans' but first have to catch the bouncy legumes by chasing them. They are on an adventure that takes them from the top of a tree all the way to the moon. This very fun story is solidly made with simplistic illustrations, all lightly animated and interactive.
After the story, though, the main feature of this app is the creativity game included. Children can draw squiggles or doodles of things like a car's exhaust, sheep's wool, cotton candy, birds' nests, a rocket launching, and waves among a school of fish. After drawing on the screen, simply push "go" for an animated scene that will amuse users of all ages. Creative embellishments are almost endless, including stickers that animate slightly.
The storybook itself has lots of great options, including nice narration that highlights as read. Simple page turning by arrows and an easy to read font round out this well-made title. Overall, this is a phenomenal free book app with way more than just an 'extra' built in for creativity. If anything, the story itself feels more like an extra, but in the best way possible; children can read the story first, then explore the creative options, including the ability to record their own narration, create fun animated scenes and so much more. Highly Recommended!

According to Miku, the rabbit, today is Bobu the Monkey's lucky day! But why, asks Bobu? Because you can share a snack with me today ... "I've brought jumping beans," says Miku. But the beans all jump away, with Miku & Bobu in hot pursuit. The jumping beans are too fast, so the pair hop in a car ... zooming close to the beans where Bobu is able to reach out and grab them (only after drawing squiggles to make the car go fast, of course). "Gotcha!" says Bobu.
Another bean is up in a tree. By drawing squiggles, Miku is able to jump high and grab it. For the last bean they draw a pair of squiggly binoculars to see where it has gone ... but they find it has jumped 'all the way to the moon'. With a few more squiggles (and a rocket-building dinosaur) they are soon off to the moon to grab the last 'jumping' bean.
But how can they get home? "We just need a little imagination and a lot of squiggles," says Bobu. Soon they are bouncing home on a series of squiggle clouds they've drawn. Once on earth the pair is eager to have a snack since they have really built up an appetite on their 'squiggle' adventures.
