Elly the Reindeer is a cute cartoon-style reindeer. She has adventures with her animal friends in a sweet rural setting where all the child-like characters live in their own homes (by themselves) and look to each other for help, fun and solving the occasional dilemma. In this story Elly has her friends over for a holiday feast. She decorates her home (and cupcakes) before going to sleep. She even leaves a snack out for Santa, but is the reindeer she sees at her window in the night real, or just a dream?
This cute series of books became a fast favorite of my son when he was under five, especially at bedtime. The books are now narrated, although the text does not highlight as read, which would be ideal for the preschool audience. Each title has crisp & engaging illustrations with stories perfect for kids aged 2-6. The settings are simple and easy to navigate.
Overall, the Elly Book series is truly delightful. These books are short & sweet, perfect for reading before bed. They are also simple enough for young children to read to themselves. This book series also has added light interactivity & animation, although the audio effects can interrupt the narration if tapped too soon. Like the other Elly books, this title features child-like animal friends that demonstrate positive pro-social behavior toward each other. It is perfect for reading to young children at any time of day.

Elly is having her friends over for Christmas. She decorates the tree, wraps presents for her forest friends and decorates holiday cupcakes. Then she leaves snacks for Santa before going to sleep. She us awoken by a thud on the roof and isn't sure if she is dreaming when she sees a reindeer at her window. When she wakes up & finds a present from Santa, and then her friends arrive for the holiday feast.
