This eco-storybook app is made with simple settings and very little enhancement beyond narration, however the story itself is a winning choice for reading in the classroom for Earth Day or any other "green" celebration. It can also make a good bedtime story, although it is rather heavy on message, to a degree that might feel dogmatic to some older readers. A small "i" appears on the cover page but is not active. Note too, that the final page encourages a trip to the developer's website, EarthDog.org, to read more stories and play on-line games; with a small tap of this screen, young readers will find themselves on the web quite easily, something parents and teachers may wish to avoid by turning off browser access in the settings. This publication was developed in the late 1990's and also used as part of the United States energy conservation program under the Dept. of Education.
