Learning sight words was never so much fun as in this sequel to Endless Alphabet ...

A sight-word adventure awaits young learners in this follow-up app to the popular Endless Alphabet. Adorable monsters scatter the letters of each word after the user taps it. You can then reassemble the word by dragging the letters to the tracings. The word is then used in a sentence with sight words that the user needs to drag to match their outline. An animated sequence demonstrates the meaning of the word and sentence alongside crisp, clear narration. As the letters and words are dragged to match their outlines, they animate and wiggle, along with funny eyes and mouths. This is an app that brings smiles and giggles to all ages with ample positive reinforcement to keep children moving even when challenged.

Numerous links leave the app, including in-app purchases for additional word packs, but everything is under a parental gate that requires reading. The free version contains only words A-F. A school version is also available, with all the word packs included - see "other versions" tab on this review page above. Overall, young children will be deeply engaged in this full-featured early literacy app.

Story Synopsis - Endless Reader

As a follow-up to Endless Alphabet, set the stage for early reading success with Endless Reader! This app introduces "sight words", the most commonly used words in school, library, and children's books. Kids need to recognize these words by sight in order to achieve reading fluency. Recognizing sight words is advantageous for beginning readers because many of these words have unusual spelling, cannot be sounded out using phonics knowledge, and often cannot be represented using pictures.

Kids will have a blast learning sight words and their context and usage with the adorable Endless monsters. Each word features an interactive word puzzle with letters that come alive, and then a sentence puzzle with words that become what they describe. See the word "dog" as a barking dog, and the word "up" reach for the sky! [Source: iTunes]
