I Have to Go!! is a cute title from the Dutch team "Sieneke & Tineke". The 'story' is about a little one who has to go to bathroom and can't find her potty. She goes from room to room, speculating on where she can go to pee. "Should I do it on the couch?" she wonders. She also considers many other inappropriate places until she remembers her potty is in the bathroom. What a relief.
This book is just the right length for toddlers, although my 4 year old also enjoyed it a lot. Every page has a few unique sounds to be triggered, but nothing that would encourage senseless tapping. A funny little series of clanging noises happens whenever you tap on the little girl, which seems a bit repetitive, but there are a few other cute sound effects spread throughout the book.
The illustrations are hand-drawn and based on the toddler books this team created in print over the last decade. Three of the drawings are available in the extras section as coloring pages. It's a small number, but set up in a nice way that allows the child to touch a color and then tap in an area to 'fill' in the color.
There is a 'home' button and settings to turn off the narration. The home button holds your place in the book, giving only the option to 'continue' but no way to 'restart' or navigate to another page. In a title this short, this is not a serious complaint. There were also a couple places where the narration did not precisely match the written text and the wording of some of the scenes felt awkward and vague. For instance, she says 'should I do it' instead of 'should I go to the bathroom' or 'should I pee' and one page has a reference to 'he' without any indication of who 'he' is (I assumed they meant 'daddy').
Otherwise, this is an enjoyable and sweet title for the very littlest kids. It also is great reinforcement for children being potty-trained, capturing the panic that is very common as children first learn to control this important bodily function. It would be a great read on the potty, in fact.

In this book for toddlers and young children, the little girl in the book searches for her potty when she realizes she needs to pee. First she wonders if she should go in a plant. No, her parents wouldn't like that. Then she considers the couch, the dog's basket, next to the trash, or even in her pants like she did when she was a baby. But she exclaims, "I am big now!" and keeps looking for her potty. Then she remembers, "My potty is in the bathroom. Just in time!"
