This is a beautifully illustrated musical app with both a sing-along and play-along mode. In play-along mode, the reader needs to tap the numbers as the song counts down, with the numbers shuffling with every scene. Not only is this a fun mode to watch, it also reinforces counting quite nicely. The number that needs to be tapped next does highlight slightly if the child doesn't tap anything right away. A small pause/play button serves as a home button when tapped. In sing-along mode the app really shines, offering both an audio and video recording option. You can even record your own music if you want. Words for the traditional song scroll along the bottom of the page while instrumental music plays for singers to accompany. It's a lovely app for the holidays and has lots of flexible settings to use the app in many ways. For a more thorough review of this title, see SmartAppsforKids.com.
