Press Here: The App, by Chronicle Books, is a new release inspired by the International bestselling picture book by Hervé Tullet. This app is like the piped piper, as it mesmerizes children into following polka-dots all around the iPad. The blue, yellow, and red dots dance, connect, morph, shrink, spin, disappear, and just as quickly reappear.
All the while, delightful sound effects and music hypnotize players into a feeling of relaxed bliss. This very open-ended app has no format, each game slides into the next without ever displaying a definitive conclusion. Kids are encouraged to explore, with no two sessions every being the same – real shelf-life here. With every possible feature the iPad has to offer being utilized this is one brilliant app!
Students were enchanted by Press Here and loved the spontaneity and creativity that came with it. Whenever we offered up the iPad for another kid to try this unique app, you would see their eyes twinkle and the corners of their mouth turn up. Press Here brought a smile to the faces of everyone who gave it a test ride. It’s guaranteed to do the same for whoever is lucky enough to give it a try. The educational value is not so much for it’s content or what you create, it is all about exploration.
